The Sacred City, Varanasi
Varanasi or Benaras, (also known as Kashi) in Uttar Pradesh is one of the oldest living cities in the world and one of the seven holiest places in India.
The whole city is fascinated by ancient architecture painted walls, colourful narrow lanes which are connected to the several ghats of the river Ganges like Dashashawmedh Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, Tulsi Ghat, Assi Ghat etc., Pilgrims from different places of the world come to explore Varanasi throughout the year.
The Sukkha Pera (Sweets), Lassi, Rabri, and the most vegetarian food is readily available in Varanasi and though it is an oldest city but the people who is running a Lassi Shop, budget hotels or Restaurants have a Wifi facility as a compulsion to attract the visitor for the means of easiest communication.
Benarasi Saris are very famous here. It is made of fine woven silk and are decorated with intricate designs and because of these engravings, they are heavy. Benarasi Saris are mostly worn by Indian women on important occasions such as attending a wedding and are expected to be complemented by the women’s best jewellery.
